BACKGROUND
This 72-year-old woman with hyperlipidemia was
referred to the hepatobiliary department because of a
right upper quadrant mass. The mass was discovered
during a preoperative workup for coronary bypass surgery
to treat triple-vessel disease that caused episodes of
angina. The patient previously underwent coronary
angioplasty.
The mass was thought to arise from the right lobe of the
liver and was found on upper abdominal ultrasonography
(US) following an episode of right upper quadrant pain.
CT was performed to further characterize the mass.
Series of images are provided, including US images (A),
Tc-labeled RBC scans (B), CT angiography scans (C), and
axial CT scans (D).
